I met Kiley a couple of years ago over cheese cake -- a detail I had forgotten until she reminded me of it, lol. :) We've never really had the chance to hang out again since. Of course, in the faceboook age, you never lose contact, so I was able to ask her to do a session with me. Happily, she agreed and we got some really great pictures from the session. I am, as always, very excited for the pictures. It was another gorgeous autumn day (the weather has been so insanely delightful), the sun was out and golden, the leaves were crunching, the sky was blue... Ah, autumn sessions. Gotta love 'em. :D Kiley and I had fun talking about life and education and doing what you're passionate about, etc. etc. Yes, I can get really deep at photo shoots, lol. And also really corny... but that's a different story. ;)

{Becca & Hannah} Portrait Session, Fort Wayne, IN
This photoshoot was really great! I was nervous about the weather at first; cold, kind of overcast. It was the first really cold day of the season. Up until now the weather has been very summer-like (which I have absolutely no problem with lol), but the day of our shoot the temperature dropped significantly. Instead of shooting outside, however, we shot inside the Grand Wayne Center. Normally I hate indoor shooting, but when there is a huge wall of glass at the location, you might as well be outside! The Grand Wayne Center looks beautiful in photographs and is CLIMATE CONTROLLED! :D I'm super glad to have a second location (along with the botanical conservatory) for indoor shooting in the winter. Anyway, we also hurried over to Freimann Square and got a few outdoor pictures before we froze and before it got dark. It was a really fun shoot and the pictures turned out amazing. :)

{Chloe & Mitchell} Maternity Session, Fort Wayne, IN
Chloe and Mitchell are expecting their second child at the end of the month. I've known them for a couple years now and did pregnancy pictures for them when they had their first. I was really excited to do another maternity session with them and am really pleased with how the photos turned out (do I always say that? lol). I don't really see a lot of maternity photos in urban environments and wanted to try it out; I think it works really well. Anyway, I'm really excited to meet this new little girl!
Anyway, here are some of the pictures from the session. If you would like to book your own session, visit alaurenphoto.com or message me on facebook. Senior sessions and portrait sessions are 50% off through November 30th.

{Henley} Senior Session, Fort Wayne, IN
I lie in the title of this post. Henley is not actually a senior. I guess we could call her a mock senior, lol. She already graduated but I needed someone to test out ideas for fun senior pictures on. I am pretty happy with the results. We had a TON of fun hanging out downtown and at the rose garden. And no one DIED when we were on top of seven story parking garage, haha. I texted Henley prior to the session and asked her she was afraid of heights. She replied no, and I couldn't wait to get up on that parking garage. After we huffed and puffed our way up seven flights of stairs and stepped out onto the roof however... Guess who was lying on the ground. Yes, it's true. I was lying on the ground. Ok, so mostly I was composing a shot, but it felt slightly safer. Eventually I pulled it together and we got some cool shots. And yes, I will go back up there again if someone wants to take pictures there, haha. I'm not THAT scared and the effect is AWESOME! :D

Norah, Fort Wayne, IN
I have known Norah for 17 years -- since she was born. She lives two houses down from me so she is a frequent model for me when I don't have any other shoots to do and want to get some practice pictures in. I've never shot in this exact way at this location before and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I also experimented with a different focal length and I'm pretty satisfied with that as well.
In other news, October is completely booked! :D I am no longer booking sessions this month, but I am accepting bookings for Winter 2010 and Spring 2011.
Also, I have discovered a really cool location for pictures that I am going to test out this weekend. But it's a secret so you'll just have to wait and see... Hehee. :)

Hannah's Mini Portrait Session, Fort Wayne, IN
Last week was a really FUN week!! I had three awesome sessions with some awesome people, Hannah, Madison, and two adorable little girls, Elenda & Olivia. The weather was great (we photographers live in dread of rain. Ok, so I dread rain when I have a pregnancy session and the mom is close to the due-date and if miss, we miss... THAT is what is really scary, lol. Most of the time it's just an inconvenience.). I also discovered a little corner of Foster Park that I've never noticed before. I'm very excited for all the shoots I have coming up over the following couple of months. Seniors, newborns, maternity, families... and a couple other things I've got up my sleeve. ;) I can hardly wait. :D
On a side note, I heard a really awesome remix of a Marina & The Diamonds song when I was at the mall Sunday. And it's stuck in my head now... lol.
Anyway, here are the pictures from the shoot. :)
